Periodical Technical Inspection (PTI)
Quickly obtain inspection-relevant information
As a vehicle tester, you need to know:
Which items need to be inspected? Exactly which regulations need to be observed for the recommended test methods?
In the new Mazda PTI Service Portal you simply need to enter the vehicle’s VIN to instantly receive the exact checklist for compliant technical vehicle inspections.
How the Mazda PTI Service Portal works
1.
At the heart of the Mazda PTI Service Portal is a comprehensive vehicle database populated directly by the manufacturer (Mazda).
2.
Testers in any EU country can log in to the portal and enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) of a vehicle requiring inspection.
3.
The tester selects the technical details for inspecting the requested vehicle’s systems in their chosen language (24 language versions available).
Why is there a special Mazda PTI Service Portal?
Several years ago, the European Union pushed forward the development of technical vehicle inspections. The standards for testing brakes and headlight adjustment were harmonised across Europe, for example. The large proportion of electronics in modern vehicles poses a particular challenge for vehicle inspections.
The high level of technical customisation of vehicles ex works can also prove confusing for testers.
This is where the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/621, which was published in the Official Journal of the European Union in April 2019, comes in.
Who runs the Mazda PTI Service Portal?
1.
The legal requirements state that the vehicle manufacturer or importer (such as Mazda) must make their inspection data available. The manufacturer or importer instructs DAT to provide this information.
2.
DAT implements the requirements of the vehicle manufacturers and importers and runs the PTI Service Portal as a service provider. There are 24 language versions to choose from on the platform.
3.
Any customer (for example a testing organisation or workshop operation) who uses the Mazda PTI Service Portal has a business relationship with DAT.
